10 minute mile? Yep!!

I think I just ran a 10 minute mile! That has been one of my goals since I began running.  I ran 1.5 miles in 15 minutes so that means at 10 minutes I had run 1 mile right?!?  Yay!!!!  The way this came about was that I had to drop my van off at Chapman's Auto this morning so I just ran home from there.  It took me 15 minutes and according to the distance is 1.46 miles (close enough to 1.5 for me).  I am so happy!!

Making my own sunshine...

This morning I was grumping about the fact that I am sick of this cloudy weather and that I'd rather run when the sun is shining.  Terry said I would just have to make my own sunshine.  So I did!  I ran 2.38 miles in 30 minutes and I feel great!

Treadmill Running...

The weather was nice and sunny this morning but by the time I was ready to run it had clouded over and the wind was blowing so I decided to run on the treadmill.  I added a new element to my run I watched Dancing With the Stars while running.  This was awesome!  My time on the treadmill is always slow, usually about a mile in 17 minutes.  Today, with the distraction, I ran a 15 minute mile!! Yay!

My run today...

2.2 miles in 26 minutes today!  Feels good but I'm a bit disappointed because I really felt like I had pushed myself harder than the last time I ran this route but it took me a minute longer?  Oh well, it's the whole journey that counts!  I AM happy to say I have met one of my goals for the winter.  That goal was to maintain my weight through the winter.  I did it!! I'm no heavier than I was this fall no lighter either but that's okay.

I cut 10 minutes off my time today!  I ran 2.2 miles in 25 minutes!! Nice!

Springtime running!

I ran outside this morning!  Yay for warmer temperatures! I set a pretty fast pace at the beginning but then had to slow down.  That's ok though. I ran 1.7 miles in 20 minutes and walked a 5 minute cool down.  Feels good!
